Silver Star Diabetes Prevention Roadshow

Most people would be surprised to know that around 22,000 people with diabetes die early every year. Type 2 diabetes is a leading cause of preventable sight loss in people of working age and is a major contributor to kidney failure, heart attack, and stroke. There are currently 3.4 million people with Type 2 diabetes in England with around 200,000 new diagnoses every year. While Type 1 diabetes cannot be prevented and is not linked to lifestyle, Type 2 diabetes is largely preventable through lifestyle choices such as diet and exercise.

The Silver Star Diabetes Prevention Roadshow will be at Asda, Old Mill Lane,  Forest Town, Mansfield NG19 0HA  on Wednesday 18 April 2018 from 10 am to 5 pm.

There are currently over 3 million people diagnosed with diabetes in the UK and another over 1 million people who have type 2 diabetes but do not yet know it.  Local residents are encouraged to pop along for more information about how to prevent the onset of Type 2 diabetes through simple lifestyle changes.
